Hot-Loud-Festive. We Love Fiesta time in San Antonio. Fiesta is a 10 day celebration that wrapped up on Sunday. All we can think about is the cascarón aftermath! A cascarón is an egg that is decorated much like an Easter egg, and then filled with confetti. We picked these up at the local H.E.B before Easter. As a kid I obsessed with these coffetti filled eggs. Having a cascarón broken over your head is said to bring good luck. My Mom, who collected them over the years, hated to clean them up. Time to break out the vacuum.

Stripes and Taffy – two favorites. Picked these up in old school candy shoppe, down in Texas. It’s not too early for salt water taffy and strolls down the boardwalk.

We Grew up in the D.C. area and spent a lot of time looking at art. The Smithsonian is free! Gene Davis work embodies the spirit of the city. Here are Homage to Matisse, 1960, Magic Circle, 1975 and Hot Susan, 1965.
